Each year we do a Ladies Garden Tea
planned especially for our ladies
with fine linen, dishes, great food,
wonderful fellowship, great entertainment and music.
Our men serve us in a special way! We can't do it without them!
This is a unique way to share Jesus with
a friend or neighbor. We do our best to share Jesus and the Gospel at our Ladies Garden Tea.
Our TEA Story
The Ladies Ministry Council planned the tea with much thought and prayers. We have planned the Garden Tea with you in mind, to celebrate our New Hope ladies and friends. For those of you that don't know the history of the Tea, let me share some of it with you.
The Tea first started as a Mother/Daughter Tea in May, where our men served breakfast to our ladies under a huge event tent on our property. Only a few ladies may remember that. Then, the vision of a few ladies was to minister to our New Hope ladies and friends at the beginning of the Christmas Season and move the tea to December. That is how the Christmas Tea began.
The 1st Christmas Tea was in 2004 with Lynne Butcher and Karen Durham as Co-Directors. We had approximately 80 ladies that year, and it grew over the years with 304 ladies as the highest in attendance. After 10 years of directing the Ladies Christmas Tea, Karen retired, however, she still tries to host a table when she is able. She and her Ladies Council did a tremendous job during those years. The Council then asked me, Nancy Harmon, to be the new Director and I accepted, and the Christmas Tea continued for another three years.
Once The Grand Miracle was birthed, which involved our entire fellowship, we decided to move the Tea back to the spring, and it became A Garden Tea.

For many reasons we have decided to keep it "A Garden Tea".
HOSTESSES
We can't do it without our Hostesses! You are the heart of the Tea, we know that. We need you! We can't do the Tea without Hostesses. We need Hostesses before we know how many seats we can offer, and how many tickets we can sell! As a Hostess you can make your reservation FREE! This is to help you off set your expenses to pay for any items you need to complete your table.
It is your responsibility to provide EVERYTHING needed for a FORMAL table setting of 8, including a centerpiece. I provide a checklist for you. When you register, I will give each Hostess a letter with all the details.
If you don't have everything you need for your table - Please do not purchase anything for your table before checking with me, Nancy Harmon first. I have a lot of items I would be happy to let you borrow. For many years I did 2-3 tables at each tea. So, needless to say, I have accumulated a lot of items.
The responsibility of a Hostess is to decorate a table for 8, provide the necessary tableware, etc. It is also your responsibility to know where everything is in the room and let the ladies at your table know that information. I don't share that from the podium. If you have ladies you want to sit at your table, please invite them to sit with you. If not, when ladies buy tickets, we can place them at your table.
