Our Senior Pastor Dr. Gary L. Durham is retiring from his position here

at New Hope on August 31, 2026.

He has served as our Pastor for the last 24 years,

as well as an additional 5 years in the 1980's.

 

This means that we will be looking for a new Senior Pastor

to lead New Hope into the next season God has planned for us.

We will post updates on this page as our Board members work with our District Superintendent

to navigate New Hope through this process.

To the New Hope family:

I would like to give you an update on the transition to a new senior pastor as we approach the transition of Dr. Durham to a new ministry area i  August. The board has been working closely with our District Superintendent, Dr. Brian Wilson, on this process.

​

Currently, we have a list compiled by Dr. Wilson of six possible candidates. The board has expressed an interest in interviewing two of these candidates. If the board votes in favor of one of them and the candidate agrees, members of the church will have an opportunity to meet the candidate and vote on whether to extend a call. If a call is extended, the candidate will have 15 days to decide whether to accept. If you are interested, you can find the entire pastoral search process on the church website.

We believe the Lord has already chosen our new senior pastor, and our role is to be prayerful and obedient to Him as we go through this process. In the meantime, we continue to be deeply thankful for the ministry of Pastor Durham, who has blessed us so much with his teaching and pastoral leadership.
